Tomato Cultivation and AI-Assisted Drones for Optimal Picking Time (Sample)

Cultivation Technology

Hanako KYODAI

Tomatoes are one of the most consumed vegetables in the world, and there are many factors that affect quality and yield. This study proposes a method to monitor tomato cultivation using an AI-assisted drone to determine the optimal time to pick tomatoes. the AI-assisted drone uses image recognition technology to analyze the color, shape, size, and other characteristics of tomatoes to determine their maturity and quality. It also collects environmental data such as temperature, humidity, and hours of sunlight to consider factors that affect tomato growth. Based on these data, the AI-assisted drone predicts the optimal picking time and notifies farmers. In order to verify the effectiveness of the AI-assisted drone, experiments were conducted in an actual tomato field.
